The HBR3200 / SS320 is a Schottky barrier diode (SBD) engineered for the high-frequency, low-voltage-drop rectification seen in switching power supplies, inverters, motor drives and microwave communication circuits. On a mining bench it earns its place as a rectifying diode, freewheeling diode, protection diode or small-signal detection diode — the same positions found across miner PSUs and hashboards. A guard-ring structure delivers excellent overvoltage robustness, and the low forward drop keeps conversion efficiency high.

When to Replace a Schottky Diode

Typical failure mode: shorted junction after a PSU surge, or an open diode after a sustained over-current event. On a miner PSU, a shorted SBD shows up as a dead output rail and a blown input fuse; on a hashboard, it can mask as a boot-stage scan failure. Always verify polarity and the junction reading with a diode-test before desoldering — a shorted SBD is easy to confirm in-circuit and saves needless rework.

Rework & Sourcing Notes

Rework with a hot-air profile suited to the package's lead-frame. Clean the pads, re-tin, and orient the new diode with the cathode band matching the silk-screen mark.
