IPW60R037CSFD 600V N-Channel CoolMOS Power MOSFET – ASIC PSU Primary-Side Repair

The IPW60R037CSFD is a 600V N-channel CoolMOS power MOSFET from Infineon's CFD2 superjunction family, with a typical Rds(on) of 37mΩ and a continuous drain current of 60A at 25°C. The integrated fast-body diode is what makes this part the right choice for the primary-side switches in ASIC miner power supplies running half-bridge or full-bridge LLC topologies. It comes in the TO-247-3 through-hole package.

Where the IPW60R037CSFD Sits in a Mining PSU

On Bitmain APW7 / APW9 / APW12 and many Whatsminer P21 / P221 PSU primary stages, two or four IPW60R037CSFD-class MOSFETs sit on the LLC primary side, switching at 70-150kHz. They take the brunt of the input current and are the most common primary-side failure under sustained 1500-3300W load. A failed primary MOSFET typically reads a shorted drain-source on a multimeter and trips the input fuse on next power-on.

Replacement Procedure

Disconnect the PSU from mains and bleed the primary bulk capacitors (a 47kΩ bleed resistor across the bus is the safest method — wait at least 5 minutes after that before touching). Desolder the failed MOSFET from the heatsink, clean the heatsink contact area and apply fresh thermal compound. Solder the new IPW60R037CSFD into the board, torque the screw to the heatsink (do not overtighten — use the original spring or thermal pad), and verify with a curve tracer or a low-voltage bench test before returning to full mains.
