SN74AUP1T34DCKR U2E Voltage Level Shifter – Antminer & IceRiver Hashboard Repair
The SN74AUP1T34DCKR (marking U2E) is a single-bit voltage level shifter with Schmitt trigger input and two independent configurable power rails (VccA and VccB, 0.8–3.6V each). It provides ±6mA output drive with very low dynamic power consumption in a compact 2.15×1.4×1mm package. Used on Antminer S19, S21, T21, L7 hashboards and IceRiver KS3M, KS3L, KS5L boards to translate logic signals between different voltage domains in the ASIC communication chain.
Why Level Shifters Fail on Hashboards
Level shifters sit in the signal path between voltage domains — typically bridging the 1.8V ASIC communication bus and the 3.3V control logic. A failed shifter breaks signal integrity at that point, causing downstream chips to lose synchronisation. The miner reports those chips as missing or erroring. The Schmitt trigger input provides high noise immunity, but sustained ESD events or thermal stress can still degrade the device over time.
Replacement Procedure
Remove the hashboard and locate the failed U2E device along the signal chain near the affected chip group — the package is extremely small (2.15×1.4mm). Desolder with hot air at 280–310°C using magnification. Clean pads, place the new device with pin 1 aligned and reflow. Reinstall and verify that previously missing chips now appear in the hash chain.
