YY12038H12B 120mm Cooling Fan 6300RPM – Goldshell KD5 / KD6 Replacement

The YY12038H12B is a 120×120×38mm axial cooling fan rated at 12V / 4.35A (52.2W), spinning at 6,300RPM with high-precision double ball bearing construction. It delivers 230CFM at 21.6mmH₂O static pressure and 58dBA, connecting via a 4-pin interface. Designed as a direct drop-in for the Goldshell KD5 and KD6 Kadena miners.

Why Ball-Bearing Fans Matter for KD5/KD6

The KD5 and KD6 generate substantial heat mining Kadena (KDA) and rely on high-airflow fans to keep chip temperatures in check. Sleeve-bearing fans degrade quickly under the sustained high-RPM loads that mining demands. The YY12038H12B's double ball bearing design provides significantly longer service life, more consistent airflow over time, and lower bearing noise as the fan ages.

Installation

Power off the miner. Disconnect the old fan's 4-pin plug and remove the mounting screws. Insert the new YY12038H12B with the airflow arrow pointing in the correct direction. Secure screws, connect the plug, power on and verify stable RPM and normal chip temperatures in the dashboard.
