When to Replace the Avalon Q Cooling Fan

The Avalon Q was designed for home-mining environments, where low noise is as important as hashrate stability. Over time, bearing wear, dust ingress or minor impeller damage causes the stock fan to whine, stall intermittently or trigger over-temperature shutdowns. Signs it is time to replace the fan include a new buzzing or rattling tone at startup, visible wobble of the impeller, or miner logs reporting "Fan speed abnormal" or "FAN_NUM_ERR". Installing the Avalon Q Fan

Replacement is a 10-minute job with a Phillips screwdriver. Unplug the miner, remove the top grille, unclip the 4-pin KF2510 connector, unscrew the four mounting corners of the old fan, drop in the new fan (airflow arrow facing out), reconnect the KF2510 and replace the grille. Restart the miner and confirm that the fan ramps to full speed during POST and then stabilizes.
