About the Product

Whatsminer Test Fixture – Faulty Chip Scanner for M20, M21, M30 & M31 Series Hashboards

This ASIC test fixture is built for the Whatsminer M20, M20S, M21, M21S, M30, M30S, M31 and M31S families, enabling technicians to scan hashboards and pinpoint defective KF1920, KF1921 and KF1930 chips without powering the full miner. By identifying the exact chip position that has failed, you can target your repair precisely — replacing only the faulty component instead of swapping entire hashboards, saving significant cost and turnaround time.

Why a Test Fixture Is Essential for Whatsminer Repair

Whatsminer hashboards carry dozens of ASIC chips in series, and the miner's built-in diagnostic only tells you that a board is underperforming — not which specific chip has failed. A dedicated test fixture connects directly to the hashboard outside the miner chassis and scans every chip position individually, flagging any that do not respond, return incorrect data, or show abnormal voltage domains. This level of precision turns a multi-hour guesswork process into a 10-minute diagnosis.

How to Use the Fixture

Connect the hashboard to the test fixture using the appropriate signal cable. Power the fixture and launch the scanning software — it will enumerate every chip on the board and display a pass/fail map. Failed positions are typically highlighted in red, with the specific chip location (row and column) shown so you can match it to the physical board layout. Once identified, remove and replace the faulty chip using the corresponding KF-series tin tool and a hot-air station, then re-scan to confirm the repair was successful.

The fixture is compatible across the M20 through M31 family because these generations share the same signal protocol. A 14-pin to 18-pin signal cable may be required depending on your board revision — check your hashboard connector before ordering.
