About the Product

Whatsminer P566Z / P564Z Power Supply 10,000W – For M63 & M65S+ Hydro Miners

The Whatsminer P566Z and P564Z are high-voltage DC power supplies designed by MicroBT specifically for high-hashrate hydro (water-cooled) miners: Whatsminer M63, M63S, M63S+, M63S++ and M65S+. The P566Z (P/N P566Z-BC-42-10000-A-V01) delivers 10,000 W on a 42 V DC rail from a 380–480 VAC three-phase input rated at up to 17 A. Both PSUs are engineered for 24/7 full-load duty with integrated water cooling, wide input bandwidth and a complete protection suite — the standard MicroBT replacement for failed units and the OEM fit for new builds.

Why M63-Class Hydro Miners Need a 3-Phase High-Voltage PSU

The M63 family operates close to 10 kW per unit at the wall — a load that single-phase 220 V infrastructure cannot service efficiently. Three-phase 380–480 VAC supply spreads current across all three lines, lowering per-conductor heat, reducing copper cross-section and keeping breaker sizing realistic at the rack level. The P566Z is sized for that scenario: 17 A per phase at 480 V three-phase yields the full 10 kW the M63S++ requires, with headroom for the brief inrush at miner power-on.

Integrated Water Cooling for Hydro Mining Duty Cycles

Air-cooled PSUs throttle, derate or trip when surrounding farm temperatures climb. The P566Z and P564Z are built into the hydro coolant loop, so the same water that cools the hashboards also pulls heat from the PSU's transformer, switching stage and output rectifiers. This is the only way to sustain 100% load 24/7 without thermal cycling — the failure mode that kills capacitors and MOSFETs in air-cooled supplies tasked with hydro-class wattage. Wide input bandwidth (380–480 VAC) keeps the PSU stable across regional grid voltages without manual taps or external transformers.

Full Protection Suite for High-Wattage Mining

Both the P566Z and P564Z integrate overvoltage (OVP), undervoltage (UVP), overcurrent (OCP), short-circuit (SCP), overheat (OTP) and automatic shutdown on abnormal events. At 10 kW, an unprotected fault propagates fast — a primary-side MOSFET failure can take out the hashboards downstream. The PSU's sense logic isolates the load before damage spreads, which is one of the main reasons MicroBT specifies these units for the M63 family rather than allowing third-party substitutes.

When to Replace a P566Z / P564Z PSU

Common failure modes in field deployments: the miner refuses to power on after a grid event, hashboards disappear from the dashboard one by one as the 42 V rail droops under load, the PSU triggers OTP shutdowns even with normal coolant flow, or there is an audible buzz / pop following an input spike. At 10 kW, board-level repair on the bench rarely beats a swap-out — input-side MOSFETs and main capacitors that fail catastrophically take output rectifiers with them, and a known-good P566Z restores full hash rate without diagnostics downtime.

Installation & Mains Notes

Confirm your facility delivers 380–480 VAC three-phase service with at least 17 A per phase available on a properly rated breaker. Disconnect mains and depressurise the cooling loop before swapping the PSU. Mount the unit, connect the coolant inlet/outlet through quick-connect fittings, then attach the DC output harness to the hashboards and the auxiliary connector to the control board. Re-pressurise the coolant loop, check for leaks at every joint, and only then re-energise the AC input. Verify hash rate ramps to target and that PSU temperature stabilises within the first hour of operation.
