PSU Cooling Fans for Crypto Miner Power Supplies — 40mm, 60mm, 80mm
The fans inside a crypto miner PSU are the unsung components that keep your 3 000-4 000 W power supply from cooking itself. When the small 40mm or 60mm fan in your APW12, APW17, P221B, P222V or other PSU fails, the internal temperature climbs in minutes and the PSU enters thermal shutdown — taking your hashrate with it. This collection covers every PSU cooling fan we stock for Bitmain APW series, Whatsminer P-series, Avalon, Goldshell, Innosilicon and other crypto miner power supplies — small form factor, high static pressure, designed for the confined airflow inside PSU enclosures.
Choose the right PSU cooling fan for your power supply
Match the fan to your PSU model. The form factor and connector pinout are PSU-specific:

Why source PSU cooling fans from LYS Shenzhen
Three reasons mining repair shops standardise on our PSU fans :
- Spin-tested and current-tested — every fan is run at rated voltage and checked for bearing health and current draw before shipping. Defective units (~5 % of bulk batches from any supplier) are caught here, not at your repair bench.
- Correct form factor match — PSU fans look similar but mount differently inside the PSU enclosure. We list every fan with exact dimensions (LxWxH), connector type (2-pin / 4-pin / Molex), and voltage / current rating so you order the right one the first time.
- Bulk pricing for fleet PSU rebuilds — at $1.90-$3.50 each, PSU fans are perfect candidates for fleet-spec inventory. A 200-miner farm rebuilding PSUs at the 18-month service interval consumes 200+ fans per cycle. Quote-based volume pricing reflects that scale.
Frequently asked questions
How do I open my PSU to replace the fan ?
PSU enclosures are typically held by 4-6 screws around the edge. Unplug the PSU from power for at least 15 minutes before opening (residual capacitor charge is dangerous). Inside, the fan is connected by a 2-pin or 4-pin header to the PSU board. Document the cable orientation before unplugging.
Can I substitute a higher-CFM fan for better PSU cooling ?
Be cautious. PSU fans run on a fixed 12V rail (no PWM control on most miner PSUs). A higher-current fan may draw more than the PSU board's small fan regulator can supply, causing the regulator to fail. Match the original current rating within 10-15 %.
My PSU fan is making bearing noise but still spins — should I replace it now ?
Yes. Bearing noise is the early-warning signal before total failure. Replace before the bearing seizes and the fan stops entirely (which can take 2 days to 2 months from first noise). A noisy fan is a $2 fix ; a seized fan plus the resulting thermal damage to the PSU board can be $200+.
Are these original Bitmain / MicroBT / Avalon PSU fans or compatible ?
Both, depending on the SKU. Genuine OEM fans are stocked where available for current models. For older PSU models where OEM is EOL (e.g. APW3 / APW7), tested third-party compatible fans match the form factor, current and RPM specs. Both are clearly noted.
