How do I tell if my hashboard problem is the chip or the cable ?
Swap the data cable to a known-good unit first. If the X errors / chip count issue moves with the cable, the cable was bad. If it stays on the hashboard, the issue is on the board itself (chip, MOSFET, capacitor, temperature sensor). Always test the $1 cable before pulling $5 chips.
