The HY510 thermal grease is a reliable thermal interface material designed for effective heat transfer between Whatsminer and Avalon ASIC chips and their heatsinks. Where the HY510 fits in the workflow
HY510 sits at the thermal interface between the ASIC chip die / package surface and the aluminum or copper heatsink. During a chip replacement on a Whatsminer or Avalon hashboard, the technician cleans the heatsink contact face, lays down a thin even bead of HY510, then re-attaches the heatsink with the original spring clip or screw torque. The non-conductive grease prevents accidental shorting if the bead spreads beyond the die.
