The KF1950 is the MicroBT ASIC hashing chip used on the Whatsminer M30S and M21S hashboards. When one or more chips fail, the board's hash rate drops proportionally. This is a brand-new original KF1950 — direct SMD replacement that restores the chip position's hash rate contribution. Operating temperature range -40°C to +85°C.
When to Replace a KF1950 Chip
The miner's ASIC status page shows each chip's state. A failed KF1950 appears as a missing position, error flag or abnormally low hash rate at that slot. Common causes include thermal degradation, solder joint fatigue under thermal cycling and electromigration. Replacing the chip with fresh solder paste and reflowing restores the position's output.
Replacement Procedure
Remove the hashboard and identify the failed chip from the miner log. Preheat to 150–180°C, apply flux and remove with hot air at 350–400°C. Clean pads with solder wick. Apply paste using a KF1950 stencil, place the new chip with pin 1 aligned and reflow. Verify the chip appears and reports normal hash rate.
