About the Product

BM1725AA ASIC Chip – Antminer DR5 Hashboard IC Replacement

The BM1725AA is the Bitmain ASIC chip used on the Antminer DR5 hashboard, optimised for the Blake256R14 mining algorithm (Decred). Each DR5 hashboard achieves up to 34TH total hash rate across its chip array at 1,800W. This is a new original SMD chip — not a pull or remark — with an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Direct BGA/QFN replacement for failed chips on the DR5 board.

When to Replace a BM1725AA Chip

A failed BM1725AA shows up as a missing or erroring chip position in the miner's ASIC status page. Common failure modes include thermal degradation from sustained high-temperature operation, electromigration in the chip's internal power distribution, and solder joint fatigue under thermal cycling. Replacing the failed chip and reflowing with fresh solder paste restores the chip position's hash rate contribution to the board total.

Replacement Procedure

Remove the hashboard and identify the failed chip position from the miner log. Preheat the board to 150–180°C on a heating station, apply flux to the target chip and remove with hot air at 350–400°C. Clean the pads with solder wick. Apply fresh solder paste using a BM1725 stencil (or freehand for experienced technicians), place the new BM1725AA with pin 1 aligned to the board marking, and reflow. Verify the chip appears in the hash chain and reports normal hash rate.
