D25SB100 25A 1000V Bridge Rectifier – High-Current Replacement for Whatsminer Power Supply Repair
The D25SB100 is a 25 A / 1,000 V single-phase bridge rectifier with glass-passivated chip junctions, designed as a direct replacement for the input rectifier stage in Whatsminer power supplies. Its compact molded package handles high surge currents (IFSM) while maintaining superior thermal conductivity — critical for PSUs that operate at full load around the clock in mining environments. When this component fails, the PSU loses its ability to convert AC mains to the DC bus voltage, resulting in a completely dead unit.
Why Bridge Rectifiers Fail in Mining PSUs
The input bridge rectifier in a mining PSU conducts the full mains current on every AC half-cycle, generating significant heat under continuous 24/7 load. Over time, thermal cycling weakens the die-to-lead bond, and voltage spikes from unstable mains or generator power can exceed the component's surge rating, leading to a shorted or open diode junction. A shorted bridge blows the input fuse immediately; an open junction causes the PSU to output pulsating DC with excessive ripple, which can damage downstream components if not caught quickly.
Replacement Procedure
Disconnect the PSU from mains and discharge all capacitors before starting work. The D25SB100 is a four-pin through-hole component — desolder the old unit, clean the through-holes with a solder sucker or wick, and insert the new bridge rectifier with the correct AC and DC polarity markings aligned to the board silkscreen. Solder all four pins with good thermal contact, then verify with a diode-test meter that each of the four internal diodes reads approximately 0.5–0.7 V forward drop and open-circuit in reverse. Power the PSU on a variac and confirm the DC bus voltage rises smoothly before reconnecting to the miner.
