GH14038BZW-1 140mm Cooling Fan 12V 4.5A – Replacement for Whatsminer M20-M60 Series
The GH14038BZW-1 is a 140×140×38mm high-static-pressure cooling fan rated 12V / 4.5A, designed as a direct drop-in replacement for stock fans across the Whatsminer M20, M21, M30, M31, M32, M50, M53, M56 and M60 series. It also fits selected Avalon miners that share the 14038 form factor. The fan ships with a dual-bearing core, plastic blades tuned for the typical 75-95Pa back-pressure of Whatsminer chassis, and is available in both 4-pin and 6-pin connector versions to match what the original fan used.
Why a Spec-Matched Fan Matters on Whatsminer Boards
Whatsminer M-series miners run their chip arrays close to the thermal limit, and the controller actively reads each fan's RPM signal. A generic 140mm PC fan will mount mechanically but won't meet the static-pressure requirement at the operating point — the result is hashboard chip junction temps that drift up by 5-10°C, hash-rate drop, and intermittent fan-error fault codes. The GH14038BZW-1 matches the original airflow / pressure curve and the controller sees a normal RPM tach.
Replacement Procedure
Power down the miner and disconnect mains. Remove the chassis fan grille screws and lift out the failed fan. Note the original connector (4-pin or 6-pin) and order the matching variant. Plug the new GH14038BZW-1 into the controller header — the airflow arrow should point in the same direction as the original (intake or exhaust depending on the slot). Power on and verify the controller dashboard reports normal RPM and that all hashboards stay within their target temperature range.
