KZ14038B012U 140mm Cooling Fan 7200RPM – Whatsminer M30 / M31 / M32 Replacement
The KZ14038B012U is a 140×140×38mm axial cooling fan rated at 12V / 7.2A, spinning up to 7,200RPM with ball bearing construction and a 4-pin ATX power interface. It pushes 300CFM at 43.2W, providing massive airflow for the dense heatsink stacks in Whatsminer M30, M31 and M32 series miners. The ball bearings ensure reliable operation under the sustained high-RPM loads that mining demands.
Why Fan Replacement Matters on Whatsminer M30-Series
The M30/M31/M32 miners generate significant heat across their hashboards and PSU. When a fan degrades — bearing wear, blade damage, dust accumulation — airflow drops and ASIC chip temperatures rise. The firmware may thermal-throttle the hash rate to compensate, or the miner shuts down entirely on overheat protection. Proactively replacing fans when bearing noise or RPM fluctuation appears prevents these unplanned stoppages.
Installation
Power off the miner. Disconnect the 4-pin ATX plug from the fan header and remove the four corner mounting screws. Slide the old fan out. Insert the new KZ14038B012U with the airflow arrow pointing from intake to exhaust (front to back). Secure screws, connect the plug, power on and confirm a stable RPM reading in the dashboard with chip temperatures returning to normal.
