Kaisi 818 Adjustable Temperature Heating Station – ASIC Miner Hashboard Repair Tool
The Kaisi 818 is an adjustable-temperature heating station for preheating PCBs during ASIC chip removal, reflow and soldering on crypto miner hashboards. Preheating from below to a controlled 100–200 °C reduces the thermal gradient when hot air is applied from above, minimising shock to the substrate and surrounding components. Essential equipment for any shop servicing Antminer, Whatsminer, Avalon or other ASIC hashboards. Available with US, EU, UK and CN plug options.
Why Preheating Is Critical for Hashboard Repair
Mining hashboards are multi-layer PCBs densely populated with ASIC chips, MOSFETs and fine-pitch BGA components. Applying a hot-air gun directly to a cold board creates steep thermal gradients that can warp the PCB, crack adjacent solder joints and delaminate internal copper layers. Preheating to 150–180 °C first means the gun only needs to add the final 50–70 °C to reach reflow temperature, reducing total stress and preserving surrounding components.
How to Use the Kaisi 818
Place the hashboard face-up on the heating surface, ensuring flat contact. Set the target temperature with the adjustable dial — 150–180 °C is typical for lead-free boards. Wait for stabilisation, apply flux to the target chip and use a hot-air station at 350–400 °C from above. Once the chip lifts, clean pads with solder wick. The preheated board keeps solder fluid longer, making pad cleaning faster and reducing pad-lift risk. The 3.5 kg base provides a stable platform that will not shift during rework.
