KF2510 6-Pin Right Angle Connector – Control Board Socket for Mining Cooling Fans

The KF2510 6-pin right-angle connector provides a 2.54 mm pitch male header socket for connecting cooling fans to the control board on ASIC miners. Rated for 9–12 A, it handles the current draw of high-speed mining fans without overheating, and the right-angle (L-shaped) design optimises cable routing in the tight space between the control board and the fan shroud. This connector is a direct replacement for worn, melted or broken fan headers on Whatsminer, Antminer and other mining rigs that use the KF2510 standard.

When to Replace the Fan Connector

Fan connectors on mining hardware endure constant vibration from the fans themselves and repeated thermal cycling. Over time the contact springs lose tension, leading to intermittent connections that cause fan speed errors, unexpected shutdowns, or "fan lost" alarms in the miner firmware. In more severe cases the connector can melt due to high contact resistance under 9+ amps of current — a clear sign the connector must be replaced before it damages the control board traces.

Installation Tips

Desolder the old connector from the control board using a soldering iron with a chisel tip, clearing each through-hole with a solder sucker. Insert the new KF2510 6-pin right-angle header, ensuring the pins angle toward the fan cable routing path. Solder each pin with good fillets, then inspect under magnification for bridges between the 2.54 mm pitch pads. After installation, connect the fan and verify it spins up to the expected RPM on boot — a stable reading confirms good electrical contact.
