About the Product

LBAT54HT1G Schottky Barrier Diode for ASIC Miner Board Repair

The LBAT54HT1G (marking "JV") is a low-power Schottky barrier diode in a miniature SOD-323 surface-mount package. It is widely used on ASIC miner control boards, hashboard auxiliary rails and PSU signal sections wherever low-forward-voltage rectification or fast switching protection is required in a tight footprint.

With a forward voltage of only 0.4V and 30V reverse blocking, this small-signal Schottky is a common choice for steering diodes, OR-ing on housekeeping rails, level-shift protection on GPIO lines and back-EMF clamping around small inductive loads. Replacing a shorted or open SOD-323 Schottky often restores boards that fail to boot or show abnormal logic levels after a power event.

Application in ASIC miner repair

Signal-level Schottky diodes like the LBAT54HT1G appear throughout an ASIC miner's low-power circuitry: protection around the controller MCU's 3.3V/1.8V rails, level-shifting on UART/I2C buses to the hashboards, freewheel paths for small fan-tach or LED loads, and OR-ing diodes on backup power circuits inside the PSU control section.

Failure modes are usually either dead-short (which pulls a housekeeping rail down and prevents boot) or open (which removes protection and lets the next surge damage an adjacent IC). When replacing one, check the surrounding pull-ups, the upstream LDO, and any small SOT-23 transistors that share the same node.

Where it fits on the board

Common placements include the controller area of Whatsminer, Antminer and Iceriver control boards (near the UART headers, EEPROM and reset network), and on PSU control PCBs around the standby 5V/3.3V generation. The SOD-323 footprint is one step smaller than SOD-123 — confirm the silk outline and pad pitch before soldering to avoid swapping for the wrong family.

Common failure symptoms

  • Control board fails to boot, 3.3V rail collapses or shows abnormal current draw
  • UART or I2C line stuck low after a brown-out or hot-plug event
  • EEPROM read errors or intermittent hashboard detection
  • Visible burn mark or cracked package on a SOD-323 footprint after a surge
  • One miner of a fleet repeatedly fails the same self-test after firmware reset

Frequently asked questions

Is the LBAT54HT1G a direct equivalent to BAT54?

The LBAT54HT1G shares the BAT54 family's 30V / 200mA Schottky characteristics in a SOD-323 footprint. Always cross-check polarity (cathode band) and the original marking code on the board before substituting.

Can I use it as a power rectifier?

No. With a 200mA average rating it is intended for signal-level and low-power housekeeping circuits, not for main DC output rectification. For PSU output stages use a power Schottky in a TO-220 / D2PAK package.

What's the difference between SOD-323 and SOD-123?

SOD-323 is roughly half the footprint of SOD-123. Pads, pitch and component height differ — replacing one with the other requires footprint modification and is not recommended on a tight repair.
