When to Replace the Avalon Q Fan

Common failure signs: miner throttling under normal ambient temperature, a new buzz / tick / chirp from the chassis, "fan fault" in the Canaan control panel, or a rotor that spins freely but never hits rated RPM. Because the Avalon Q is designed around a 25 mm-thick fan, always replace with the same thickness — a 38 mm fan will not fit the slim housing and a different connector pinout will trip the controller.

Installation Notes

Power the Avalon Q fully off and disconnect the PSU. Remove the fan grille, unseat the 4-pin KF2510 connector, and match the replacement's airflow arrow to the original. Seat the new connector with the latch engaged so the controller can read RPM. No firmware change is needed.
