Snowfan YY4028H12B 40mm Cooling Fan 18000RPM – IceRiver PSU Replacement
The YY4028H12B by Snowfan is a 40×40×28mm cooling fan rated at 12V / 0.54A, spinning up to 18,000RPM with metal bearing construction and copper fixing rings. It delivers 26CFM at 45dBA through a 4-wire 4-pin connector. Direct drop-in replacement for the internal cooling fan in IceRiver BP-H-3640 power supply units.
Why Replace the IceRiver PSU Fan
The BP-H-3640 PSU packs high wattage into a compact enclosure, relying on its 40mm fan as the sole internal cooling mechanism. When the fan degrades — bearing wear, dust buildup, reduced RPM — internal temperatures rise until the PSU's thermal protection triggers a shutdown. The metal bearing design of the YY4028H12B provides better durability than sleeve-bearing alternatives under the sustained heat inside a mining PSU, extending the interval between replacements.
Installation
Disconnect mains and open the PSU enclosure. Unplug the old fan's 4-pin connector from the PSU control PCB and remove the mounting screws. Install the new YY4028H12B with the airflow direction matching the original. Secure, reconnect, close and verify normal PSU temperatures under load.
