About the Product

IceRiver PSU Fan Speed Simulator | Spoofer for BP-H-3640 Power Supply Cooling Replacement

The IceRiver PSU Fan Speed Simulator is a fan-signal spoofer designed to replace the stock cooling fan on the BP-H-3640 (BP-H-3640-11-R-BG / BP-H-3640-11-R-GB) power supply — IceRiver's 3640W PSU used across the KS3, KS3L, KS3M, KS5L, KS5M, and AL3 miners. The PSU runs 180-285VAC 50/60Hz 16A max input and delivers 10.5-14V at 3400W main rail plus 12V at 240W auxiliary — feeding the full mining-hardware envelope.

When you put the miner in a silencer box or convert it to oil cooling, the PSU's stock fan is either redundant (silencer enclosure handles airflow externally) or harmful (oil immersion damages spinning fan bearings). But the PSU controller monitors the fan-tachometer signal and will shut down if it doesn't see one — so the fan can't simply be unplugged. The simulator generates a clean tach pulse that satisfies the PSU controller while keeping the actual fan disconnected. Net effect: lower acoustic signature, longer PSU service life, and silencer / oil compatibility.

When You Need the BP-H-3640 Fan Simulator

  • Silencer-box installation — IceRiver miner moved to home / office; PSU fan removed to silence the build, simulator keeps the PSU running.
  • Oil immersion conversion — fan removed to prevent oil damage; simulator keeps the PSU controller satisfied.
  • Hydro / water-cooled fleet — external cooling replaces the stock fan path; PSU still needs a tach signal.
  • PSU fan failure — original fan dead, simulator buys time until full fan replacement arrives.
  • Service-life extension — eliminating the spinning fan reduces wear and acoustic stress.

Specs and Features

  • Function: replaces the stock cooling fan on the BP-H-3640 PSU.
  • Spoofs the tach signal the PSU controller monitors — prevents fan-error shutdown.
  • Compatible miners: IceRiver KS3, KS3L, KS3M, KS5L, KS5M, AL3 (all using the BP-H-3640 PSU).
  • Noise reduction: removes PSU fan acoustic output entirely.
  • Service life extension: no spinning fan bearings to wear out.
  • Application: silencer boxes, oil-cooled deployments, hydro setups.

FAQ — BP-H-3640 PSU Fan Simulator

Q: Does this simulator work on the BP-F-500 (KS2 Lite / AL2 Lite) PSU?
A: No — the BP-F-500 PSU uses a different tach signal protocol and a different fan connector. For Lite-series PSU fan simulation you'll need the corresponding KS Lite / AL Lite fan spoofer.

Q: Will the miner show "fan error" with this installed?
A: No — the simulator generates a clean tach pulse at the rate the PSU controller expects, so the controller sees a "healthy fan" signal and runs normally. No error log entries.

Q: How does this differ from the IceRiver miner-side fan simulator (the one that spoofs the miner's internal fans)?
A: This one is for the PSU fan specifically. The miner-side fan simulator (sold separately) spoofs the two main miner cooling fans on the chassis. For a full silencer or oil setup, you typically need both.

Q: Can I run the BP-H-3640 PSU permanently without any fan at all?
A: Only if the surrounding cooling (silencer box, oil bath, or external air movement) is sufficient to keep the PSU internals below 70°C. The PSU has internal OTP that will trip if it overheats — make sure your replacement cooling solution actually moves heat away from the PSU chassis.

Q: Bulk pricing for fleet conversions?
A: Yes — email contact@lys-sz.com for volume pricing.
