The TL494CDR is a fully-integrated PWM control IC combining all the essential blocks for building pulse-width-modulation power-supply control circuits. The chip integrates two error amplifiers, an adjustable oscillator, a dead-time control (DTC) comparator, a pulse-steering control flip-flop, a 5V regulator with 5% tolerance, and output control circuitry on a single die.

Selectable push-pull or single-ended output operation, double-pulse inhibition for safe output handling, variable dead-time control over a wide range. The "CDR" suffix denotes SOIC-16 SMD package on tape-and-reel.

Q: Can I substitute another TL494 variant (TL494CN, TL494IDR)?
A: Electrically yes for the same family. The "C" prefix = commercial temp range (0-70°C), "I" = industrial (-40 to +85°C). Match the package suffix: "N" = DIP-16 through-hole, "DR" = SOIC-16 SMD. Don't mix packages.
