About the Product

KF1958 ASIC Chip – Whatsminer M30S Series Hashboard Replacement

When a chip position on your Whatsminer M30s series hash board fails, the entire chain can report zero hash rate or a significantly reduced output. The KF1958 ASIC chip is the direct replacement that brings the chain back to full capacity. Each chip is sourced to match the original MicroBT specification, ensuring correct voltage domain behaviour and consistent SHA-256 hashing performance once reflowed into position.

Chip-Level Repair Saves the Entire Hash Board

A single failed KF1958 can take a full hash chain offline, but the remaining chips on the board are almost always fine. Replacing the faulty chip at component level costs a fraction of swapping the whole board and gets the miner back into production the same day. Use a Whatsminer test fixture to scan the chain, identify the bad position, de-solder the failed chip, apply fresh solder paste through the KF1958 stencil, place the replacement, and reflow. After cooling, re-scan the chain to confirm the repaired position is hashing normally.

Reflow Best Practices for the KF1958

Pre-heat the hash board to 100–120 °C to prevent thermal shock to surrounding components. Remove the failed chip with a hot-air station, clean the pads thoroughly, and apply solder paste using the dedicated KF1958 tin tool stencil for even ball placement. Reflow the new chip following a lead-free BGA profile. After cooling, verify clock and data signals on the repaired position before reinstalling the board in the miner chassis.
