About the Product

ADS122U04IPWR 24-Bit ADC | Analog-to-Digital Converter for Industrial Sensors & IoT

The ADS122U04IPWR from Texas Instruments is a 24-bit Δ-Σ analog-to-digital converter engineered for high-accuracy industrial sensing, IoT, and portable instrumentation. With 2kSPS sampling, 4-channel input flexibility (2 differential / 4 single-ended), and an integrated programmable gain amplifier (PGA: 1× to 128×), the part excels at precision signal acquisition from RTDs, thermocouples, and strain gauges.

The on-chip feature set keeps the BoM short: a built-in 2.048V reference (5ppm/°C drift) and dual IDAC current sources (10µA-1.5mA) drive RTDs and bridge sensors directly, while the integrated digital filter delivers 50/60Hz noise rejection at the 20SPS data rate. With 1.4mW total power consumption and a tiny 16-TSSOP package, the chip suits both battery-powered nodes and dense industrial sensor boards.

Ultra-Low Power 24-Bit ADC with Built-In PGA & Anti-Noise Filtering

  • 24-bit resolution (20-bit ENOB) for microvolt-level accuracy.
  • UART interface (120kBaud) plus auto-baud detection for seamless MCU integration.
  • Wide 2.3V-5.5V supply for battery-powered and industrial systems.
  • Tiny 3mm² 16-TSSOP package (RoHS / MSL3) for space-constrained designs.
  • Programmable PGA 1×-128× — handles low-level signals without external front-end amps.

Where the ADS122U04IPWR Fits

This is the right ADC when a design needs precision temperature, pressure, weight, or strain measurement from a sensor bridge — RTD-based industrial temp meters, thermocouple thermometers, load cells, and pH probes all use the same architecture. The UART interface (rather than I²C or SPI) simplifies long-cable runs to a remote MCU host, and the integrated IDAC sources eliminate the discrete current-source design typically required around precision ADCs.
