This universal tin fixture stencil plate is compatible with five generations of Bitmain ASIC chips: BM1387, BM1393, BM1396, BM1397 and BM1398. It covers Antminer models from the S9 through to the S19, making it the single most versatile tinning tool for any repair shop servicing a mixed fleet of Bitmain miners. The fixture holds the chip in a precise position while the stencil controls solder deposit area and thickness, allowing you to tin chips quickly and cleanly with a heat gun or soldering iron while minimising the risk of solder bridges and short circuits.

Why a Universal Fixture Saves Time and Money

Repair shops that service multiple Antminer generations typically need a separate tin tool for each chip type — BM1387 for the S9, BM1393 for the S11 and T15, BM1396 for the S17 and T17, BM1397 for the S17e and T17e, and BM1398 for the S19 and T19. Purchasing, storing and switching between five individual fixtures slows down the workflow and ties up capital. This universal fixture consolidates all five into one tool, so technicians can move from an S9 board to an S19 board without swapping equipment. The stencil openings are designed to match the solder pad layout common across these chip families, delivering a consistent solder deposit regardless of which generation is being reworked.

Tinning Procedure

Clean the chip pads with flux and a soldering iron to remove old solder. Place the ASIC chip face-down into the fixture recess so that the solder pads align with the stencil openings. Apply solder paste across the stencil surface using a scraper, ensuring each opening is filled evenly. Use a hot-air station or heat gun at the paste manufacturer's recommended reflow temperature — typically 180–220 °C for standard leaded paste — and watch for the solder to wet and ball on each pad. Let the chip cool, then lift it from the fixture. Inspect under magnification to confirm uniform solder bumps with no bridges between adjacent pads before placing the chip back on the hashboard for reflow.

The fixture is made from high-temperature resistant, wear-resistant material that withstands repeated reflow cycles without warping. At 100 mm in size, it fits comfortably on any rework station and is light enough for field repair kits.
