Antminer S21XP Hydro Silicone Grease Stencil – Stainless Steel 1:1 Precision Thermal Paste Application Tool

This is a dedicated silicone grease stencil for the Antminer S21XP Hydro miner. The mold is designed with 1:1 hole positions that replicate the original Bitmain specification, so the apertures sit directly over each ASIC chip on the hashboard and over every contact zone on the matching heatsink module. Made from high-quality stainless steel with smooth, burr-free edges, the stencil delivers a uniform thermal paste layer in a single pull — precisely on the heat-dissipation areas that matter, with no smearing onto adjacent components and no risk of scratching the chip top or heatsink surface. It is the right tool for new S21XP Hydro installations, thermal paste refresh and full cooling-system optimisation.

Why a Dedicated S21XP Hydro Stencil

Generic stencils almost always come with the wrong aperture spacing for the S21XP Hydro hashboard. The result is misaligned coverage, uneven coat thickness, and grease pushed onto components that should stay clean. Those errors translate into air bubbles in the heat-dissipation gap, reduced thermal conduction between chip and heatsink, higher operating temperatures, and ultimately hash-rate decay or thermal shutdown. A 1:1 stencil eliminates that whole failure chain by matching the OEM chip-and-heatsink geometry exactly.

The stencil's hole size and spacing are optimised for heat dissipation on the S21XP Hydro chip array. Every aperture is positioned to deposit grease only where chip-to-heatsink contact actually occurs, with thickness controlled so that the joint is full but not overfilled. The result on a refurbished hashboard: uniform coating thickness, reduced air entrapment, better heat conduction efficiency, and lower steady-state chip temperatures — which is what keeps a hydro miner at full hash rate over months of duty cycling instead of slowly drifting under thermal stress.

Burr-Free Stainless Steel for Safe Repeated Use

The stencil is fabricated from high-quality stainless steel: corrosion-resistant against coolant residue and isopropyl-alcohol cleanups, and not easily deformed by repeated handling. Critically, the aperture edges are finished smooth and burr-free, so the stencil cannot mark the ASIC chip tops or score the polished heatsink contact surface during alignment. Aperture geometry stays sharp run after run, and the stencil washes clean for the next session without warping.

When to Use This Stencil

Three workflows on the S21XP Hydro call for it: (1) installing a new miner where a fresh, factory-equivalent thermal interface is the right starting point, (2) replacing or refreshing thermal paste after months of duty cycling have caused pump-out, dry-out or migration of the original layer, and (3) upgrading or optimising the cooling system — for example after a water-cooling plate change, a coolant-loop service, or a deliberate thermal-headroom upgrade ahead of a firmware over-clock.

Application Workflow

Power off the miner and depressurise the cooling loop before disassembly. Strip the existing thermal compound from the hashboard chip tops and the water-cooling plate contact surface using isopropanol and a lint-free wipe. Position the stencil over the hashboard so the 1:1 apertures register cleanly with the chip array, dispense your thermal grease across the surface, and pull in one steady motion with a flat scraper or squeegee. Lift the stencil straight up — do not slide — to leave even gel deposits on every chip without smearing. Lower the water-cooling plate straight down onto the chips and clamp at the recommended torque. Re-pressurise the loop, check for leaks, and only then re-energise the miner.

Important Notes — Compatibility, Storage & TIM Choice

This stencil is compatible only with the Antminer S21XP Hydro. The chip-pattern and heatsink footprint differ from the air-cooled S21XP, the S21 Hydro and the S21+ Hydro, so do not attempt to use it on those models — aperture misalignment will destroy the whole benefit of a 1:1 stencil. For best results, pair the stencil with a high-conductivity thermal grease (≥6 W/m·K is the standard recommendation for dense ASIC hashboards); an 8 W/mK silicone gel is the recommended class for hydro hashboard density. The stencil is a precision tool: handle without bending, store flat in a dry, dust-free environment, and clean residual grease off after every session to keep aperture geometry sharp.
