About the Product

BM1362AJ ASIC Chip – Restore Full Hash Rate on Antminer S19j & S19j Pro Hashboards

The BM1362AJ is the SHA-256 hashing ASIC at the heart of Bitmain's Antminer S19j (104 TH/s) and S19j Pro (96–100 TH/s) generations. Each hashboard carries 126 of these chips, and even a single failure can reduce overall hash rate or knock the board offline entirely. This genuine replacement chip ships with pre-applied solder beads — no additional tinning required — enabling faster, cleaner rework with fewer defects.

Symptoms of a Failed BM1362AJ

A defective chip typically manifests as one or more "X" marks in the miner's web interface chip map, reduced hash rate proportional to the number of dead positions, or a board that fails initialisation with a "chain error" in the kernel log. In some cases the failed chip develops a short that pulls down the entire voltage domain, taking a group of adjacent chips offline even though they are individually healthy. Identifying whether you are dealing with a single chip fault or a domain-level issue is the first diagnostic step.

Diagnosis & Replacement Workflow

Use a test fixture with scanning capability to pinpoint the failed chip position. Measure the voltage domain around the suspect location — the core supply should read within specification; a domain that reads significantly low suggests the failed chip has an internal short. Remove the defective BM1362AJ with a hot-air station at 380–400 °C, clean the pads with flux and solder wick, then place the new pre-beaded chip with correct pin-1 orientation. Reflow at the standard BGA profile and run a chip scan to confirm the new device registers in the chain.

Because the replacement chip arrives pre-beaded, you skip the tinning/stencil step — reducing per-chip repair time by roughly 5 minutes compared to bare-die alternatives. For boards with multiple failed positions, complete all removals first, clean all pads in a single pass, then populate and reflow in batch for maximum efficiency.
