Combines low ESR, high ripple-current capability, and long service life — the exact profile required for filtering tight-tolerance low-voltage rails that feed ASIC chips at their Vcore input.

Low-voltage ASIC rails carry high transient currents and need very low ESR to keep voltage ripple within the chip's tolerance window. Tantalum polymer caps like the T520 series give the required ripple / ESR performance in a small footprint, which is why hashboard designs put them on the Vcore filter. Substituting a lower-grade aluminium electrolytic generally causes chain instability under load.

Q: Can I substitute an aluminium electrolytic capacitor instead?
A: Not recommended. Aluminium electrolytics typically have higher ESR than tantalum polymer, which means the Vcore rail won't filter ripple as tightly. ASIC chips may drop in and out under load. Match the original tantalum polymer specification.
