LNK306PN Offline Buck / Buck-Boost / Flyback Converter for PSU Repair
The LNK306PN is a monolithic offline switcher IC with an integrated 700V power MOSFET and a 66kHz switching frequency. It supports buck, buck-boost and flyback topologies and is widely used as the standby / auxiliary supply controller on mining PSUs, where it generates the low-power rail that feeds the main PWM controller, fan controller and signal interface before the primary stage comes up.
When the LNK306PN fails, the symptoms are unmistakable: the PSU draws no quiescent current, the fan never spins, and the main switcher never enables. Replacing the IC is one of the fastest fixes on a PSU that "looks completely dead" after a mains surge or lightning event.
