MT3608B DC-DC Step-Up Boost Module for Antminer L3+ / S9 Hashboard Repair

The MT3608 / MT3608B is an ultra-compact DC-DC step-up (boost) converter module with a 2-24V input range and a maximum 28V output (recommended use at 26V). At only a few cm² of board area, it's one of the smallest adjustable boost converters available — easy to drop onto a bench fixture or repair jig where space matters.

The module is used by ASIC repair workshops as a bench voltage source for Antminer L3+ and S9 hashboard repair: rail injection, chip-level diagnostics, BIST setups and isolated tests where a low-voltage source has to be lifted to drive a domain or a control pin.

Where the MT3608B fits in the repair workflow

On the bench, the MT3608B takes a low-voltage source (lithium pack, 5V USB rail or 12V supply) and lifts it to a target voltage for hashboard rail injection, isolated chip-level testing or low-voltage bias generation. Turn the onboard multi-turn potentiometer counter-clockwise to raise the output. Always set the target voltage before connecting the load — large overshoot can damage sensitive ASIC chains.

Compatibility

Adjustment procedure (important)

• Verify the input voltage is within 2-24V and does not exceed the maximum
• Confirm the peak output current load is below 2A
• Before testing, turn the onboard potentiometer counter-clockwise approximately 20 turns to ensure full adjustment range
• If the output voltage stays equal to the input regardless of pot position, turn counter-clockwise 10 more turns to unlock the adjustment range
• Once unlocked, turn counter-clockwise to raise the output voltage and clockwise to lower it

Frequently asked questions

What's the input range?

2-24V DC. Do not exceed 24V on the input — the integrated switch will be damaged above the rated maximum.

What's the recommended sustained load?

1A continuous. The 2A figure is the peak rating — design margin on a small boost module that small is limited.

Why won't my output go above input voltage?

The potentiometer is locked. Turn it counter-clockwise more than 10 turns to unlock the adjustment range, then continue counter-clockwise to raise the output.

Can I use this directly on a hashboard rail?

For bench testing and rail injection during repair, yes. Do not leave it inline as a permanent power source — use a proper PSU for production deployment.
