SD120428BS 40mm Axial Cooling Fan – Avalon / Canaan PSU Replacement
The SJ SD120428BS is a 40×40×28mm axial fan rated at 12V / 1.05A, spinning up to 18,000RPM and delivering 19.4CFM at 12W power consumption. It connects via a 4-pin interface and serves as a direct drop-in replacement for the internal cooling fan in Avalon Miner (Canaan) power supply units. Compact form factor fits the 4028 mounting position standard in Avalon PSU designs.
Why PSU Fan Replacement Matters
Avalon PSUs rely on a single 40mm fan for internal cooling. When it fails — bearing wear, dust buildup, reduced RPM — the PSU's thermal protection triggers a shutdown to prevent capacitor and MOSFET damage. Installation
Disconnect mains and open the PSU enclosure. Unplug the old fan's 4-pin connector and remove mounting screws. Install the new SD120428BS with the airflow arrow pointing in the correct direction. Secure, reconnect, close and verify normal PSU temperatures under load.
