The SN74AUC1GU04DBVR (marking UU4R) is an unbuffered single inverter gate in a Texas Instruments NanoFree package, used on the Antminer S19 Hydro HHB28601 hashboard for signal conditioning in the ASIC chip communication path. It operates from 0.8V to 2.7V, delivers ±8mA output drive at 1.8V with a maximum propagation delay of 2.4ns, and consumes only 10µA. Latch-up performance exceeds 100mA for robust operation in mining environments.
Role on the S19 Hydro Hashboard
The HHB28601 hashboard uses single-gate logic ICs like the SN74AUC1GU04 to invert and condition signals between the control chain and the ASIC chips. A failed inverter gate breaks signal integrity in its section of the chain, causing downstream chips to lose synchronisation. The miner reports those chips as missing or erroring. The device's 3.6V I/O tolerance and partial power-down protection make it suitable for the mixed-voltage environment on the hashboard.
Replacement Procedure
Remove the hashboard and locate the failed UU4R device along the signal routing path near the affected chip group. The NanoFree package is extremely small — use magnification to identify pin 1. Desolder with hot air at 280–310°C, clean pads, place the new device with correct orientation and reflow with fine-pitch technique. Reinstall the hashboard and verify that previously missing chips now appear in the hash chain.
