Efficient Power Conversion with the VIPER26L Converter
The VIPER26L is an intelligent high-voltage converter specifically designed for Whatsminer power supplies. This device seamlessly integrates an 800V avalanche-resistant power MOSFET with PWM current mode control, providing efficient and reliable power conversion.
Integrated MOSFET and PWM Control for Whatsminer Power Supplies
Featuring low power consumption and burst mode operation at light loads, the VIPER26L ensures optimized energy efficiency. It supports flyback, buck, and buck-boost converter designs, offering flexibility in power supply configurations.
The VIPER26L is equipped with an 800V avalanche rugged power MOSFET, enabling it to handle a wide VAC input range. It also incorporates embedded high-voltage start-up and sensing FETs, simplifying the overall circuit design.
With its current mode PWM controller, the VIPER26L enables precise current regulation and control. It minimizes system input power consumption, consuming less than 30mW at no load and less than 400mW at 230VAC with a 250mW load.
The chip features adjustable current limiting and jittered switching frequency, reducing the cost of EMI filters. It also includes an embedded error amplifier, hysteretic thermal shutdown, built-in soft-start for improved system reliability, and automatic restart protection for overload and short circuit conditions.
The VIPER26L finds applications not only in Whatsminer power supplies but also in power metering, LED drivers, and SMPS for set-top boxes, DVD players, and video recorders.
