About the Product

Whatsminer 0.8V LDO 12T 72241 Linear Regulator – Hashboard Repair for M60s Miners

The 12T 72241 is a 0.8 V low-dropout linear regulator used on Whatsminer M60S hashboards to provide the clean, low-noise core supply voltage that the KF-series ASIC chips require. When this LDO fails, the affected voltage domain drops out and the chips it feeds disappear from the hash chain. This brand-new replacement restores the supply rail and brings the board back to full hashing capacity with minimal rework effort.

Diagnosing a Failed LDO on the M60s

On the M60S hashboard, each group of ASIC chips is fed by a dedicated LDO that steps down the local supply to the 0.8 V core rail. A failed unit typically presents as a group of consecutive missing chips in the miner's kernel log. To confirm, measure the output pin of the suspect LDO with a multimeter — a healthy device should read 0.80 V ±3 % under load. If the reading is zero, significantly low, or fluctuating, the LDO has likely failed and should be replaced. Also check the input rail: if the upstream buck converter is not delivering the correct input voltage, the LDO cannot regulate properly regardless of its condition.

Replacement Procedure

The 12T 72241 is a small 5-pin package. Apply flux, remove the failed component with a hot-air station at 280–300 °C using a small nozzle, and clean the pads with solder wick. Align the new LDO with the board silkscreen — pin-1 orientation is critical for correct output — apply solder paste, and reflow. After installation, verify 0.8 V output before reassembling the board into the miner chassis. A successful repair should immediately restore the missing chip group in the hash chain scan.
