About the Product

Whatsminer M53 PSU Water Cooling Plate | Hydro Heatsink for P554B, P564B, P564Y Power Supplies

The Whatsminer M53 PSU water cooling plate is the dedicated aluminum cold plate for the WhatsPower P554B, P564B, and P564Y hydro-cooled power supplies — the 380-480VAC 3-phase input, 36V at 280A output (plus 7V auxiliary) PSUs used across the Whatsminer M53 and M63 hydro series (M53 / M53S / M53S+ / M53S++ / M63 / M63S / M63S+ / M63S++). These PSUs feed 7+ kW into the miner under continuous load, which means the PSU itself dissipates roughly 200-300W of conversion loss as heat — heat that must move into the coolant loop instead of accumulating inside the PSU chassis.

The plate is built from high-grade aluminum alloy with an enlarged internal water channel using an arc-loop design. The arc loop reduces flow resistance vs straight-through channels (better volumetric flow at the same pump pressure) and the wider channel cross-section increases heat-transfer surface area against the PSU's internal heatsink. Net effect: PSU internals run cooler, electrolytic capacitor service life extends, and the PSU's overtemperature protection won't trip even under sustained full-load mining duty.

Where the M53 PSU Water Cooling Plate Fits

  • WhatsPower P554B PSU — Whatsminer M53 / M33S++ hydro miners.
  • WhatsPower P564B PSU — M53 / M63 hydro family.
  • WhatsPower P564Y PSU — same M53 / M63 hydro applicability, current production variant.
  • Compatible miner range: M53, M53S, M53S+, M53S++, M63, M63S, M63S+, M63S++ hydro miners (and M33S++).
  • PSU repair refresh — install a fresh cold plate when rebuilding a PSU after capacitor or MOSFET failure.

Cooling Design and Materials

  • Aluminum alloy construction — corrosion-resistant against standard mining coolants (distilled water + propylene glycol + inhibitor).
  • Enlarged internal water channel — wider cross-section moves more coolant volume per cycle.
  • Arc-loop channel geometry — reduced flow resistance vs straight channels.
  • Enhanced heat dissipation — full PSU chassis temperature reduction under load.
  • Easy installation — bolt-on mounting onto the PSU heatsink interface.

FAQ — M53 PSU Water Cooling Plate

Q: Will this plate fit the P463B / P663B PSU (M56 / M66 immersion variants)?
A: No — P463B / P663B are 8000W oil-immersion PSUs with a different chassis and mounting interface. For those, you need the dedicated immersion-PSU cold plate (or use them in direct oil-bath immersion without a water plate at all).

Q: Why upgrade from the stock cooling plate?
A: The original plate uses a narrower internal channel with sharper bends, which restricts coolant flow and creates pressure drops. The arc-loop design here moves more coolant volume at the same pump pressure, lowering PSU operating temperature by 5-10°C in typical mining-farm conditions.

Q: What coolant should I use with this plate?
A: Standard mining hydro recipe — 50/50 distilled water + propylene glycol with a corrosion inhibitor. Don't use pure tap water (mineral deposits clog channels) and don't use ethylene glycol (toxic, unnecessary for the temperature range).

Q: Can I retrofit a P554B PSU originally shipped without water cooling?
A: P554B-family PSUs are designed for hydro service from the factory — the plate mounts to a pre-machined heatsink interface on the PSU chassis. If your PSU doesn't have the mounting points, it's likely an air-cooled variant and won't accept the plate.

Q: Bulk pricing for fleet operators?
A: Yes — email contact@lys-sz.com for volume pricing on hydro-PSU cooling plates.
