18-Pin Vertical PHB 2.0mm Data Outlet – Hashboard & Control Board Connector
This 18-pin vertical PHB 2.0mm data outlet is a double-row (2×9) through-hole PCB connector used on ASIC miner hashboards and control boards for signal cable connections. It carries all data, control and status signals between the hashboard and the control board through the 18-pin ribbon cable. When a damaged or worn connector causes intermittent data errors, replacing the outlet restores reliable communication without replacing the entire PCB.
When to Replace the Data Outlet
Repeated cable insertion and removal during repair work wears the connector pins, loosening the fit and causing intermittent contact. A worn outlet produces signal integrity issues that the miner interprets as chip errors or missing hashboards — symptoms that mimic ASIC chip or signal-chain IC failures. Checking and replacing the physical connector is a quick diagnostic step before moving to more expensive component replacements.
Installation
Desolder the damaged 18-pin connector from the PCB using solder wick and a desoldering pump to clear all 18 through-holes. Insert the new outlet with pins aligned to the footprint and solder each pin. Verify no bridges between adjacent pins under magnification. Reconnect the data cable and confirm normal hashboard detection.
