6-Pin Fan Simulator for Whatsminer M20 / M21 Immersion Cooling
The 6-pin fan simulator is a plug-and-play spoofer that keeps a Whatsminer M20 / M21 series miner running after the cooling fans have been removed for immersion or hydro deployment. When the fans are unplugged, the control board reads a fan-stop alarm and refuses to hash; the simulator generates the tach signal the firmware expects, letting the miner stay live in oil, single-phase immersion or external water-loop builds.
The connector is the standard 6-pin linear keying used on Whatsminer M20-class chassis fans and Innosilicon-class equivalents. Plug it into the fan header, and the miner boots into normal hashing without firmware modification.

Where the simulator fits
The simulator plugs directly into the chassis fan header on the control board, taking the place of the removed cooling fan. Use one simulator per disconnected fan header — if your build has two fan headers active, install two simulators. Once in place, the firmware sees a valid tach pulse and lets the hashboard run at full duty cycle.

Yes — it is built for any deployment where the original fans are absent. That includes oil / single-phase immersion, external water-loop hydro, exhaust ducting and bench-test setups.
Will it fit a Whatsminer M30 or M50?
The M30 / M50 chassis use different fan headers — typically 4-pin keyings. Use the matching 4-pin fan simulator for those generations.
How many simulators do I need per miner?
One per disconnected fan header. Whatsminer M20 / M21 chassis typically have two fan headers; budget two simulators if you remove both fans.
Will the simulator damage the control board?
No — it is a passive tach-spoof device. It does not draw current beyond what a real fan tach would.
