IceRiver KS5 / KS5 Pro Fan Speed Simulator – Water, Hydro & Oil Cooling Upgrade
This 4-pin fan speed simulator for the IceRiver KS5 and KS5 Pro generates the tachometer signal that the miner's firmware expects from its stock fans, allowing the machine to run normally after the fans have been removed for a water cooling, hydro cooling or oil immersion setup. It uses the square 4-pin connector format matching the KS5's fan headers and plugs directly into the control board — no firmware modifications required.
Why You Need a Fan Simulator
The KS5 firmware monitors fan RPM continuously. When it detects zero RPM — because the fans have been removed for an alternative cooling conversion — it triggers a fan-absent alarm and shuts the miner down. The simulator provides a fake tachometer signal that satisfies this health check, allowing the miner to hash indefinitely while your external cooling system handles heat dissipation.
Installation
Disconnect the stock fans from the control board fan headers. Plug the simulator into each fan header — the square 4-pin connector mates directly. Power on and verify the dashboard shows simulated RPM readings with no fan-absent alarms. Your water loop, hydro circuit or immersion tank handles cooling from here.
