About the Product

LM358 / LM358DR Dual Op-Amp | 8-SOIC for Whatsminer PSU3300-01 PLUS1 and Avalon Power Supply Repair

The LM358 (LM358DR) is a general-purpose dual operational amplifier in the 8-SOIC SMD package. Two amplifiers per chip in a compact 0.154" wide footprint. Used on Whatsminer PSU3300-01 PLUS1, Avalon PSU boards, and many other ASIC PSU control circuits for instrumentation, buffer-amp, and feedback-loop applications.

Headline specs: 2 op-amp circuits per chip, 0.3V/µs slew rate, 700kHz gain-bandwidth product, 8-SOIC package (3.90mm body width). Single-supply operation makes it convenient for PSU control circuits running off a 12V or 15V bias rail.

When to Replace the LM358DR

  • PSU feedback loop unstable — output regulation drifting from set point.
  • Sensor signal output stuck — op-amp not following input drive.
  • Visible damage on the 8-SOIC package — burnt or cracked.
  • Excessive offset drift — op-amp aged out of spec.

FAQ — LM358DR Op-Amp

Q: LM358DR vs LM358N vs LM358P — what's the difference?
A: "DR" = 8-SOIC SMD tape-and-reel. "N" / "P" = 8-pin DIP through-hole. Same electrical specs, different package. Match the original board's package.

Q: How do I test the op-amp?
A: Apply a known input voltage to the non-inverting input with the inverting input tied to ground (open-loop test). The output should saturate at near the positive supply rail. Failed op-amps either saturate at wrong rail, stick at one level, or produce random output.

Q: Rework profile?
A: Hot air at 320°C with flux paste for 8-SOIC. Standard SMD rework — preheat the board to 100°C before applying hot air to reduce thermal stress on adjacent components.

Q: Bulk pricing?
A: Yes — email contact@lys-sz.com for tape-and-reel quantities.
