The NCEP40T15G (also marked P40T15GU) is an N-channel MOSFET rated at 40V / 150A in a compact DFN5×6-8L package, used as a high-current power switching device on ASIC miner hashboards. The 150A drain current rating provides ample margin for the heavy current loads that flow through each chip group's power distribution path. Every unit is tested with computerised automatic testing equipment before shipment. New original component.
Why High-Current MOSFETs Fail on Hashboards
Power MOSFETs on hashboards switch and distribute current to groups of ASIC chips operating at low voltage and high amperage. Sustained thermal stress, transient overcurrent events or gate drive issues cause the MOSFET to fail — either short-circuit (damaging the power trace and potentially the chips) or open-circuit (cutting power to the chip group entirely). In both cases the affected section reports zero hash rate until the device is replaced.
Replacement Procedure
Remove the hashboard and locate the failed NCEP40T15G in the power distribution path near the affected chip group. Verify failure with a multimeter — check drain-source resistance and gate threshold. Desolder with hot air at 320–350°C, clean all pads with solder wick, place the new device with pin 1 aligned to the board marking and reflow. Confirm proper drain-source resistance and reinstall. Verify full chip detection and normal hash rate in the dashboard.
