The Avalon Control Board is the original Canaan replacement motherboard for the AvalonMiner A1346, A1366, A1446, A1466 and A1566 BTC miners. Drop-in fix when the original control board fails — restores normal miner operation and clears the persistent boot, network and hashboard-detection faults that prevent the unit from producing hashrate.

Important compatibility note: the control boards across the five models are physically identical hardware but require different firmware versions. The board ships ready for the model variant you select at checkout — verify the firmware matches your miner's serial number before powering on. Wrong firmware won't damage the hardware but will leave the miner unable to communicate with its hashboards.

Q: How do I diagnose whether it's the control board or a hashboard issue?
A: If all hashboards report missing simultaneously, it's almost certainly the controller (I²C / SPI bus fault). If a single board is missing while others work, run that board on a test fixture to confirm — single-board failures point to the board itself.
