OB2263 Current Mode PWM Control IC – Offline Flyback Controller (SOT23-6)
The OB2263 is a highly integrated current-mode PWM controller designed for offline flyback converters up to 30 W. Housed in a compact SOT23-6 package, it is widely used in standby supplies and auxiliary rails on crypto-miner PSUs and hashboards. Its built-in frequency shuffling technology spreads switching-noise energy across a wider band, improving EMI performance without external filtering components.
Low-Standby & Audio-Noiseless Operation
In light-load or no-load conditions the OB2263 enters an extended burst mode that cuts standby power consumption to a minimum — important for PSU designs targeting efficiency benchmarks. The burst-mode threshold is tuned to keep the switching frequency above the audible range, so there is no transformer whine during standby.
Comprehensive On-Chip Protection
The IC includes cycle-by-cycle overcurrent protection (OCP), overload protection (OLP) with auto-recovery, VDD overvoltage clamping, and under-voltage lockout (UVLO). These safeguards protect both the controller and the downstream power components during fault events, reducing the chance of cascading failures on the board.
