About the Product

SGM452TS8 Digital Temp Sensor IC for ASIC Miner Hashboards

The SGM452TS8 is a digital temperature sensor IC with I²C interface used on ASIC miner hashboards to monitor operating temperature and feed the fan-control / thermal-throttling loops. Sigma-delta ADC and a wide measurement range make it a drop-in fix when the original sensor goes deaf and the miner reports nonsense temperature values.

Accuracy is ±1°C up to +85°C and ±1.2°C up to +125°C over a full -55°C to +125°C range. Low power consumption + shutdown mode + no external components keep PCB rework minimal — desolder, reflow, recalibrate.

Typical Failure Modes Solved

  • Bogus temperature readings — miner logs report 0°C or 125°C constantly.
  • Thermal-throttle stuck on — control board derates hashboard incorrectly.
  • Sensor not responding on I²C bus — chip dead after a thermal event.
  • Production refurbishment — bulk sensor stock for hashboard rework lines.

FAQ — SGM452TS8 Temp Sensor

Q: How to confirm the sensor is dead before swapping?
A: Probe SCL / SDA on the I²C bus, read the device address, and dump the temperature register. If the chip doesn't ACK, it's dead. If it reports a constant value, it's frozen.

Q: Substitution with other I²C temp sensors?
A: Functionally similar parts exist (LM75, TMP75, etc.) but each has its own I²C address and register map. For OEM-spec hashboard repair, stick with SGM452TS8.

Q: Bulk pricing?
A: Yes — email contact@lys-sz.com.
