TXS0102DCUR 2-Bit Bidirectional Voltage Level Translator – ASIC Miner I²C Bus
The TXS0102DCUR is a 2-bit bidirectional voltage level translator in an 8-VSSOP package, bridging 1.65–3.6V (VCCA) and 2.3–5.5V (VCCB) domains at up to 24Mbps. It features auto-direction sensing — no direction-control pin needed — with both open-drain and push-pull output support. Operating range -40°C to 85°C. Used on ASIC miner control boards to translate I²C and other bidirectional buses between different voltage domains.
Why Level Translators Matter
Modern mining control boards operate multiple voltage domains — the processor runs at 3.3V while I²C peripherals may run at 1.8V. The TXS0102 bridges these domains transparently, allowing bidirectional communication without external direction-control logic. A failed translator breaks the I²C bus, preventing the control board from reading hashboard EEPROMs, temperature sensors or other peripherals.
Replacement Procedure
Locate the TXS0102DCUR near the I²C bus pull-ups on the control board — 8-VSSOP package. Desolder with hot air, clean pads, install with pin 1 aligned and reflow. Verify I²C communication is restored by checking hashboard detection and sensor readings.
